Aileen Yuen Kiu Wong's Obituary
Aileen Wong, 84, passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2020 in Moanalua Gardens. Aileen was born to Richard and Helen Ching. She was married to Norman Wong, until his passing in 1997. She is survived by her three children: Melvin Wong (Renee), Terri Miyasato (Ross), and Kelvin Wong (Carole); 5 grandchildren: Ross Jr., Melanee, Alyssa, Kendall and Carson; Siblings: Darwin Ching (Linda), Gerri Konishi, Gale Ching (Faye) and predeceased by her sister Lorraine Matsumoto. Aileen was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and worked as a clerk at Waikiki Beach Press and CaterAir before retiring to help watch her parents and raise her grandchildren. She always stressed the importance of family by hosting numerous family gatherings during Christmas and New Years. Being the oldest of her siblings, she always tried to help everyone, especially for caring for her father and mother before their passing. She enjoyed making tung mai (Chinese crackers) and Chinese gau which brought family members together. Aileen loved playing mah jong, poker, watching football and drinking with her relatives. As a hard worker, Aileen helped her husband build rockwall terraces at their Moanalua home as they carried each rock one by one up the many stairs. Private services held.
