He and his wife, Nancy Bernal, were Honorees at the annual Gala in 2019. In addition to being a versatile entertainer, he loved to cook and created delicious gourmet dishes. Al also was an artist and enjoyed making beautiful artwork. Al had the ability and experience to renovate homes/apartments. There was nothing that Al couldn’t do; he was extremely talented. One of Al’s biggest passions was being a videographer and filming events, restaurants, businesses, parades and much more and creating/editing videos for his YouTube Channel – AL808. It brought him a lot of pleasure when people subscribed to his YouTube Channel and commented on his videos. Al was married to the love of his life – Nancy Bernal – for over 46 years. Together they presented, coordinated and worked on thousands of entertainment projects through the years, including their “Al Waterson and You” talent showcases/competitions of singers at The Fishermans Wharf for eleven years and at Don Ho’s Island Grill for ten years. They supported and managed aspiring artists and worked with numerous Celebrities, too. They always treated everyone like “ohana” and with a caring attitude. Al Waterson always had a smile and a joke to share. It brought him so much joy to see people laugh at his jokes and enjoy life. His positivity was contagious.
