in honor of Alexander.

I was a lost soul in Waikiki in 1988. My husband and I had an argument in the Hilton Rainbow Tower. I hear music I was drawn to, I stormed out went to the beach the singer was wonderful and the hula breath taking. The singer became the pastor (I wanted to run away when I realized it was church! The helpers were smiling and happy I wanted to stay. When Pastor Alex asked who wants to change their life. I raised my hand. A gal named Penny sat and talked and prayed with me. She offered an Aloha Bible. I went back to my room and have never looked back. No long lost, I found Christ and have never looked back.
Pastor Alex I shall always give thanks to you for servicing the King of Kings and will see you again standing before our Savior forever grateful. Well done good and faithful servant.

My husband Dr. Sam Mungo passed away on April 20th 2023. He went to Hawaii to work many years ago. He was in personal turmoil. He discovered the beach church and didn’t miss a Sunday after that. He and I will always be grateful for the healing that happened there.

Alex, I was thinking about u today (3/29/22) and decided to do a Search. I remember when u would come into First Assembly of God church in Honolulu just before the service started, give me music, no rehearsal, and accompany you with your awesome voice and me playing piano for you. Many times this happened, the joy and fun to help u out with singing a great solo at church for everyone. You were always a blessing, low key, great attitude. Prayers of peace to your family. Say hi to my parents.
