Ambrose Santiago Burgo Jr.'s Obituary
Ambrose Santiago Burgo Jr. was called to heaven in the early morning on January 7, 2020. He was born on May 6, 1938 to Margaret Santiago and Ambrose Burgo in Honolulu, HI at 1:06 am, just missing his favorite drinking 'holiday' Cinco De Mayo.
He is survived by stepmother Carmela (Clara) Burgo and was the first of three children: brother Manuel Burgo (decesed) and Lillian (Lilly) Ygueravide. He met Kathleen (Kathy) Burgo in high school and they married at St. Theresa's Church in Honolulu, HI on October 17, 1959 and had 60 blessed years of marriage together.
Ambrose and Kathy had four children together: Marc, Steven, David and Constance (Connie) Burgo and three grandchildren: Destiny Koyama-Burgo, Daniel Ayala and Kehaulani (Kehau) Taggart.
Ambrose was an ambitious and extremely dedicated provider and family man. He held and retired from three occupations: GTE Hawaiian Telephone Co from 1959-1991, United States Air Force Reserve, 48th Aerial Port Squadron as a Senior Master Seargent in May 1998 however his entire military career spanned from US Army Reserve, US Naval Reserve then the US Air Force reserve from June 1956-May 1998 and final retirement from Container Storage Company of Hawaii, LTD from January 1993-August 2001.
We kindly ask our Ohana, loved ones and friends to wear Ambrose's favorite color as he would always refer as "Air Force Blue". Any dark, light or combination of will suffice and is only a suggestion. Mahalo Nui Loa for celebrating his life with us on Monday, February 3, 2020 at St Elizabeth Church.
