Benjamin Lewis Jones' Obituary
Benjamin Lewis Jones age 90 passed away peacefully at his home in East Honolulu. He was the husband of the late Mae Yoshie Yonemura who passed away in 2021.
The retired Director of the Western Division of the US Geological Survey. Ben was a graduate of NC State University in Geological Engineering and was born March 31,1933 in Asheville, NC.
He was the fourth of nine children born to the late Leland J. W. Jones, Sr. and Gertrude Emma Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by sisters Marion Louise Wallin, Ruth Lorena Hensley and Blanche Elaine Tennent, and by brothers Leland J. W., Jr. and Wallace Earl. He is survived by sisters Patty Augusta Waldrop of Mills River, NC, and Grace Marie Page and his brother Robert Edward of Asheville, NC.
Also surviving are his children Randall, Colleen, Kevin, Barry and Lianne, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
