Benjamin Marquez Sr.'s Obituary
Papa Ben Marquez Sr. was born in the Philippines and resided in Kalikid Norte, Cabanatuan City, Philippines.
He journeyed and arrived in Hawaii via a passenger ship in 1946, at the young age of 22.
He immigrated to the United States along with the many Filipinos and Asians, to seek a better life, and to work at the Sugar Plantation of Kekaha, Kauai. He later moved to Honolulu, Oahu to work in the Construction Industry. He began his career as a Construction Laborer, then trained, joined the Carpenters Union and became and eventually retired as a skilled Foreman Carpenter specializing in Drywall and Acoustical installation.
He was one of five children of Mr. Constancio and Mrs. Modesta Marquez. He had 1-Sister, Pacita, 2-Brothers, Sesinando and Benigno, and is survived by one additional Sister, Adelina who still resides in the Philippines.
Papa Ben married his Beloved Wife-Mama Lolita of over 60 years. He is survived by his one Son-Ben Marquez Jr, and his Loving, Caring and Patient Daughter in law-Tina Marquez whom he adored. Papa also has 2 Beautiful GrandDaughters-Jiena (Richie)and Janelle (Mark) A Handsome GrandSon-Jarrett (Charlotte), 4-Adorable Great-GrandDaughters-Jaycha, Jillien, Jaxyn, and Baby Juliana whom he met for the very first time, just days before his passing. And, last but not the least, an Energetic Great-GrandSon-Jett.
Papa Ben passed away at his Kalihi home on the morning of Wednesday November 03, 2021. Our Family is Blessed and Grateful to have had Papa Ben and Mama Lita in our lives and we thank both of them for all of the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, CARE and SUPPORT that they both have given us throughout their lives. We exist and are who we are today because of Papa and Mama. They will always and forever be on our minds and in our hearts and have our LOVE for All Eternity. We LOVE you Mama and Papa. Be with God and all who have gone before us. Rest in Love and Peace until we meet again.
A wake service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary Chapel at Valley of the Temples. Visitation will start at 5:30 p.m.; service at 6:30 p.m. A Mass service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at St. Paul's Church Parke Chapel and will start at 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. with a burial to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples.
