Betty Dybdal's Obituary
Betty Dexter Dybdal passed away peacefully on September 20, 2021. Born
and raised in Honolulu, graduated from Roosevelt High School, Honolulu
Business College, and worked as a comptroller operator for American
Factors. Betty never dreamed of leaving the Islands until she met a
young Naval officer Lt. Victor A. Dybdal. They married on March 4, 1944.
Devotion to her husband Victor was unwavering, she, was the perfect
Navy wife. It was clear to their children, Jim, Dexter, and Noelle that
their love was bedrock. There were many happy homecomings from long
separations. The emotions of those homecomings are impossible to
describe. After thirty years of Navy transfers in the United States,
Europe, Japan, and Korea, they retired home to Hawaii. Admiral and Mrs.
Dybdal, then devoted themselves to helping care for their
grandchildren, with whom brought so much joy and happiness. After Victor
passed away in 1996, Betty took up residence at Kahala Nui, enjoying
social activities and friendships. At 98 years of age she lived a full
life and has now been reunited with her husband, son Dexter, and all the
family gone before. Those who miss Betty the most are James Richard (Carol)
Dybdal, Noelle Dybdal George (Robert), Lynda (Vince) Fadale. Grandchildren:
Johanna (Sima) Tauai, Heather (Raymond) Smith, Desana Dybdal, Lisa
(Joshua) Thibodeaux, Jeannie (Elliott) Clark, Katie (Jake) Fischmann,
and eleven Great Grandchildren. Rest Eternal Mom.
