Early in the morning on June 21, 2025, with her family lovingly by her side, Beverly took her final breath and was welcomed into the gates of heaven.
In the weeks leading up to her passing, Beverly was surrounded by those who loved her most. Her family had the gift of time to hold her hand, share stories, and express their deep love and gratitude for the woman she was.
Born on June 18, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ruth Lorene Bates and Guy Winfred Bates, Beverly was raised alongside her beloved brother – Gene (deceased). She later became known not only as Beverly Stone, but also endearingly as “Rev Bev” – a nickname that reflected her calling in life as a Reverend.
In 1955, Beverly and her first husband, Richard Stone, moved to Hollywood, California, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. Together, they had three children: Jett Mari, Jeffrey Ralph, and Randy Richard (deceased). Later, Beverly remarried Robert “Jake” Manley (deceased), and in 1973, they welcomed their daughter, Malia Mathis. Their adventurous life took them across the world before they ultimately made Hawaii their home — a place that would hold her heart for decades to come.
Beverly was a true force of nature — a rare and radiant soul who lit up every room she entered. She started her acting career at the early age of 18 and worked at Hollywood’s famous Roaring 20’s Club and starred in movies, plus numerous commercials like Purina cat food along with her children. Her charisma, humor, and love for life were unmatched. She could make a crowd roar with laughter and inspire anyone she met. As a reverend, she officiated hundreds of weddings, often singing and crying during the ceremonies — adding her own special joy and flair to each occasion.
She was bold, vibrant, and refused to grow old in spirit, even when her body began to slow down. She lived with purpose and passion, always on her terms – in her penthouse full of all her awards and accolades, her son Randy’s Oscar and Emmy, and her beloved cat Willow.
Beverly is survived by her greatest blessings, Jeffrey, Mari and Malia (Lance), Lorrie, grandchildren – Chynna (Burkley), Sean (Lichelle), Journey, Juniper, Kristine (Keahi) and Kourtney and great grandchildren – Bodi, Wilder, Carrera, Conner, Lia, Kamaile, Kainalu, Kawena and Kamea.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene, and her beloved son, Randy.
A celebration of Bev’s extraordinary life will be held on Monday, July 14th at 3:00 pm at Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join in honoring the legacy of a truly unforgettable woman. In lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, please make a donation to her son Randy’s non-profit organization – The Trevor Project.
