Carlton Masao Miura's Obituary
Carlton Masao Miura of Honolulu has passed away on May 7, 2023 at the age of 72.
Carlton graduated from Iolani School ’69 and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii. He was a Peace Corps volunteer for two years in Belize, Central America. Upon returning to Hawaii, he taught English as a Second Language at the Community School for Adults. Carlton was a champion of educational programs and community-based service projects. He unselfishly shared his time and resources to support the Mōʻiliʻili Community Senior Center and Mōʻiliʻili Japanese Cemetery.
Carlton was the sole caregiver for his aging parents for many years; he did an amazing job and never complained.
Predeceased by parents Isao and Mitsuko Kawashima Miura. He is survived by many cousins in Hawaii, Mainland, and Japan.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, at Diamond Head Memorial Park, 10:30 a.m. Visitation at 10:00 am. Family requests that in lieu of flowers or offering, please consider donation to Mōʻiliʻili Community Senior Center or Mōʻiliʻili Hongwanji Mission in memory of Carlton Miura
