My sincere condolences to your family. May you find comfort found in the words of Isaiah 25:8
Our family liked to sing and a special fond memory for Carol Ann and me was riding in the back of our pick-up truck lying on a mattress early in the morning while towing our motor boat to Clear Lake, where we would water ski across the lake. We spent the time on that winding road from Sonoma to Clear Lake singing to the trees as they passed overhead. Dad, Mom and Dennis rode in front.
Before dishwashers one of us hand-washed the dishes and the other dried, sometimes finding fault with the washing, but generally singing as we worked.
We played a lot of ping-pong in the spacious chicken house our dad had built on our 2 acres to raise chickens for sale. That venture was short-lived, but the chicken house was great for roller-skating (concrete floors), ping-pong, and parties.
Last April Carol Ann had great difficulty speaking, but astounded me by singing ALL the words to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" during a music program at Lunalilo Home.
I like to think of her as being "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" now.
