Aloha e Ohana o Christian Ellis,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Christian's passing and extend heartfelt condolences. A stalwart Warrior, Christian stood side-by-side with the best.
As classmates at the Kamehameha School for Boys, we enjoyed many exciting and wonderful experiences as cadets -- all transformative, for sure! Goodness and industry were important values and lessons that were taught -- and Christian caught these well. He understood the virtues of servant leadership and contributed to the well-being of our community as a proud member of the Honolulu Fire Department. His was a distinguished and honored career!
Though some of Christian's classmates had not connected with him over the years since graduation, he was always part of our "memory" conversations -- he NEVER was left out as an important member of the Class of 1961. Respected and admired for his Warrior spirit, Kamehameha is honored and proud to call Christian one of our own.
I regret not being able to attend Christian's services on Friday, September 23 to offer my condolences personally, however, I will be traveling off-island at that time. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Be comforted in knowing that Christian is in a good place with a good God.
Ke Akua pu.
