Clayton Mamoru Kanzaki's Obituary
Clayton Mamoru Kanzaki, 74, passed away on December 24, 2021. He is survived by wife, Mia; stepson, Tyshon; sisters, Raynette (Richard) Gomoto, Shanon (Myron) Miho; nieces and nephews.
Clayton was a proud alumnus of Farrington High School's Class of 1965 and the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the Army Reserves and had a 35 year career at Hawaii National Bank.
Clayton, according to our mom, was always a sociable child with adults and other children alike. At a very young age, he'd welcome his uncles and aunties with smiles and a warm "no shame, come inside". He had a myriad of friends at school and work, many of them were true blue and long-lasting.
He enjoyed golf, going to Vegas, and watching football. He also loved music and could play the guitar "by ear" albeit with a lot of trial and error.
He had dogs and a cat but he loved his fishes the most. As a teenager, he always had multiple aquariums and continued this hobby well into his golden years. In the past few years, he added birds to his menagerie.
One of Clayton's greatest interests was Japanese history. If you asked him a question about it, he would engage you in a lengthy but informative explanation. He enjoyed watching his Japanese shows and was extremely disappointed when KIKU TV dropped their Japanese programming.
Private services were held at Diamond Head Mortuary. Those who wish to honor him may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
