Daniel Akemoto's Obituary
Daniel Akemoto, 49 of Waipahu passed away on February 25, 2022 in Waianae. He was born in Honolulu.
Bansky had said that you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.
We are here to assure that Daniel (Dan) does not die a second time. Hearing of all the comments from the GoFundMe page and Facebook and all the cards, proves that Dan will live a long time.
EARLY LIFE:
Dan was born Daniel Kenji Akemoto on February 05, 1973 in Honolulu at Queens Medical Center. He was the youngest of 4 boys, and the child of George and Irene Akemoto. Dan only knew of 2 homes, one in Kaimuki and the other in Waianae.
WORK and HOBBIES:
His 3rd home was Kalani High School where he taught Orchestra and was the Symphony and Orchestra teacher/director. He taught Polynesian Music where he also covered Polynesian Dance. He also taught Creative Dance and had put together the Kalani Dance Team “SOLEFLY”. He coached the Kalani Tennis Team and Winter Guard.
He gave private lessons to students on various instruments, and was part of the Hula Halau that practiced once a week at Kalani in his classroom. He was also a part of the Harmonisch Blasorchester Hawaii, Tenrikyo Ukulele Orchestra, and was part of Kui Lima.
FAMILY:
He married Hiromi Sakuma on July 14, 2012. They have two children, Dante Hiroyasu Akemoto age 9, and Danson Chihiro Akemoto age 5. He had just made his 49th birthday.
Dan was the minister of Paradise Church. He dedicated his life to the Tenrikyo religion, and it came through with his teachings and his personality.
Celebration of Life will be on Saturday May 14, 2022 at Diamond Head Mortuary from 12:00-2:00pm. In honor of Daniel, purple attire or accessory is requested. Memorial service may be viewed through the live webcast link provided: http://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/72649
