Wendy Dunn Higheagle

Birth date: May 20, 1949 Death date: Feb 2, 2014
Daniel Summers, Jr., 64, of Honolulu, a retired musician and an Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, died in Queen's Medical Center. He was born in Chipley, Fla. He is survived by wife Brenda; sisters Pearline Snell and Cor Read Obituary
Daniel was the father of my son Sandy Christopher Dunn of Nashville, TN. Sandy was born in 1972. I was originally from Idaho. I came to live in Hawaii in 1971. I met Daniel and had a brief relationship with him. I never told him I was pregnant. I just left.
Eventually they found each other due to the persistance of my son's wife Claudia searching for him relentlessly. I had searched for him over the years but couldn't find him. He had always wanted children but couldn't have them. He thought. When they found each other, he became an incredible father. Sandy had 12 children, so now Daniel is the grandfather of 12. 6 girls and 6 boys.
He and Brenda really reached out to be kind, loving, and giving parents. I never met Brenda because I came and went before he met her, but I spoke to her on the phone. I am truly sorry for her loss and very grateful for her support and acceptance of my son and his children.
I wish Daniel's health would have been better and he would have lived longer to see the last 2 grandchildren born. My granddaughters still remember him singing "MyGirl" to them on the phone. It warms my heart. I wish there could have been more happy times. Bless you in Heaven Daniel.
I received the news of his passing late ,
Nonetheless I'm sadden by his departure .
I do recall a conversation He and I had ...
Uncle Dan was telling me how beautiful
Hawaii is , and that I would have no problem with finding a Wife there (LOL).
I also know that he was thoughtful , just like my Moms, his sister(Cora).
I wish his Wife and Son (&Family) the power of the good memories to balance out the sorrow that comes from his lost.
R.I.P my lovely uncle tell mommy and every one we miss them,no more pain,i know you will be playing and singing up a storm you will be missed by all
Uncle Dan, I wish that I had the opportunity to know you longer. I'm glad that we connected when we did. You've showed me a lot of care and love. You and Auntie Brenda are a blessing. I pray that your soul rests peacefully for eternity. Love Khaleshia.
My sympathy to Daniel's loved ones, and may Jehovah God bring them strength to get through this difficult period. And I hope that they will find comfort in this wonderful future: " And no resident will say: " I am sick." The people dwelling in the land will be pardoned for their error. " - Isaiah 33:24.
