DARLENE CALDEIRA's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Darlene Marie Caldeira
January 4, 1952 – May 24, 2026
It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Darlene Marie Caldeira, who peacefully entered eternal rest on May 24, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on January 4, 1952, to Clarence and Dorothy Joseph Bush, Darlene lived a life defined by love, resilience, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved most.
Darlene embraced life with enthusiasm and found joy in the simple pleasures that brought a smile to her face. She loved the excitement of Las Vegas, where the bright lights, slot machines, and thrill of trying her luck made for many cherished memories. She never passed up an opportunity for a shopping trip and had a special appreciation for classic hot rods, admiring their timeless beauty and the memories they represented. Whether it was a family outing, a weekend cruise, or an adventure to Las Vegas, Darlene treasured every moment spent making memories with the people she loved.
Above all else, Darlene’s greatest pride and joy was her family. Her love was unconditional, her generosity knew no bounds, and her strength inspired everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a kind heart, a joyful spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor that brightened every room she entered. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, laughter, and unconditional love will continue to live on through each generation.
Darlene is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Alvin Caldeira; her daughters, Dayna Tavake (Nick Tavake) and Annette Opetaia (Pae Opetaia); her cherished grandchildren, Janelle Peato (Jonathan Peato), Perisha Caldeira (Willie Gaoteote), Aizeah Caldeira (Kaitlin Steward), and Chevelle Tavake; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Jaxzyn Peato and Jazelle Peato. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love, generosity, and friendship.
A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Diamond Head Mortuary & Cemetery in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.
