I lived down the street from the Setos as a child and spent many days and evenings there with Cheryl and Cathy. I must've been about 8 years old when he told me that he'd had a bar mitzvah- totally straight-faced,absolutely deadpan. "Really?" I asked, amazed. He said "Yes. But not at 13. I had mine when I was 26 years old." Well, I went home that night and told my parents, who burst out laughing. Initially I was indignant and insisted that it must be true. It took a long time for me to get the joke.
