Eddie Valmoja's Obituary
Eddie Efren Valmoja, a dedicated public servant and proud veteran, passed away on March 18,
2025, in Kahaluu, Hawaii. Born on October 16, 1948, in Kahuku, Hawaii, Eddie lived a life
marked by service, strength, and a deep connection to his family and friends.
Eddie served honorably in the United States Air Force, then following his military service, Eddie
joined the Honolulu Police Department, where he worked as a police officer in several divisions.
He retired in 1994.
Outside of his professional life, Eddie found joy and freedom in riding his motorcycle, and
spending time with family (his grandchildren) and friends.
He is survived by:

Children: Alicia Burns (Daniel), Edrick Valmoja (Nanase)
Grandchildren: Kylie Burns, Ashlie Burns, Sachi Valmoja, Eisho Valmoja
Siblings: Rosenda McEwen, Gaudencio (Fred) Valmoja, Maryann Valmoja, Samuel Valmoja
Preceded in death: Antonina (mother) and Celestino (father)Valmoja, Siblings: Fely Valmoja,
Nita (Valmoja)Lopez, Rudy Valmoja.
A memorial service honoring Eddie’s life will be held on April 18, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
at Diamond Head Mortuary, located at 535 18th Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii 96816.
