Edward Kaukihi Kiesel's Obituary
Edward Kaukihi Kiesel was born on December 17, 1946 in a little home on Luawai Street in Honolulu. He passed away on December 22, 2019 on the same property where he was born and raised on. He had just turned 73.
Edward attended school at Waialae Elementary, Kaimuki Middle School and received his high school diploma at Kalani High School. After graduating high school he worked at several jobs but eventually started to work as a laborer for various construction companies. He joined the apprenticeship program for Plasterers while living on Maui and eventually completed trade school and became a journeyman. He was a Plasterer for over 4 decades. He was a member of the Plasterer’s Union and worked for various construction companies until he retired at the age of 62. He spent most of his retired time with his family and enjoyed going to Las Vegas. He enjoyed going to UH football games and went to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Magnolia Kiesel and his brothers, Lani, Junior, John, Henrich, William and Theodore and his sister, Victoria. He survived by his sister, Magnolia Soares and his wife, Dorothy Kiesel and daughters, Kristy and Kori Kiesel. His first grand doggie, Bubba, met him at heaven’s gates. He also survived by his other grand doggies, Lily and Daisy Kiesel.
Edward’s celebration of life will be held at the Diamond Head Mortuary on Monday, January 13, 2020. Private viewing for family is from 4-5 pm. Public viewing begins at 5 pm with services to follow at 6 pm. The family requests you join us for refreshments and food after the service in memory of Edward. The family request no flowers but lei to adorn his urn would be welcomed. There will be a private burial at a later date
