Elaine Auyong Young's Obituary
Celebrating the life of Elaine Auyong Young, 88, of Honolulu, Hawaii; who passed away at Rose Tabilisma Foster Care Home on February 9, 2019, in Waipahu, Hawaii.
She was born on March 14, 1930 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Hung Tin Auyong and Annie (Hoon Jong) Auyong. Elaine was the second eldest of five siblings. Her mother passed away when they were very young and eventually her father got married to Lydia Tyau.
Elaine was a graduate of Kaimuki High 1948 and retired from the State of Hawaii's Hawaii Army National Guard, after serving for 31 years.
Elaine was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Church in Palama and Good Samaritan Church in Palolo. Attending church every Sunday was very important to her and she attended church faithfully.
She was predeceased by her husband, William and brother, Herman Auyong.
Elaine is survived by her sons, Donovan Young, DDS, Michael (Jo Ann) Young; grandchildren, Jarrett Young and Miranda Young; sisters, Angeline Brooks (of Dayton Ohio), Jennie Lum (of Honolulu), and Mary Lau (of Sacramento, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service for Elaine will be held at Diamond Head Mortuary on Friday, March 15, 2019; visitation to begin at 11:00 a.m., service at 11:45 a.m., with burial to follow 2:00 p.m. at Diamond Head Memorial Park.
