One of my last visits with Grandma Eunice was celebrating my birthday at the Woos. She was downstairs watching Korean drama and when asked how she was, she answered with, "nevermind, how you?" Although her sight was deteriorating, her cheery mood blossomed and she smiled from ear to ear. Maybe since I was English speaking and not one of the actresses, she then started talking about playing poker and her winnings. This went on for about 5 minutes and we were all surprised. I should have taken the time to video that lively conversation of the 99 year old woman. I'll just have to treasure those memories of her secret mandoo, jap chae, kim chee, or gochujang sauce recipes that she stored only in her head; and cherish the conversations at church about her poker night victorious pocketbook winnings, the week of exercise, or her days of holo-holo shopping trips. She will be missed. Knowing she's in heaven with Jesus, I'll know I'll see her again.
Blessings of comfort to the family at this time.
