Florence attended Kohala Elementary and High School and then transferred to Sacred Hearts Academy on Oahu. She graduated in 1946. After graduation, she went straight to work at Territorial Tax Office for the State of Hawaii and retired in 1989. She was married on November 15, 1947 to Charles F. Neumann III. Their family grew immediately without even a honeymoon .... Brother Eddie, sisters Dottie and Geri along with nieces Noho and Pammie moved in with the newlyweds. During the summers, this house was visited by Snookie and Vonnie. This was definitely a FULL HOUSE! In 1955, they were blessed with their first born, Charlene Lupualani Neumann. Five years later, they had Florence Jr.
They raised their children impressing upon them the value and importance of God, family and a good education. She was the epitome of the ideal wife and mother - a loving, caring and gentle but strong woman of values who always had a beautiful smile that emulated from within. The things she enjoyed most in life was picking shells at the beach, crafts, playing cards and gambling (Las Vegas). Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grand children.
Her family and friends will greatly miss her. She will always remain in our hearts and fondest memories. Her legacy will live on.
