Glenn was a fighter & a survivor:
-Overcame addiction
-Beat lung cancer w/ the help of his drs & his wife Charlene whom he said … “ I will not give up, I love my wife she is God’s gift
-2 knee replacements
Glenn was funny & very kolohe:
Aunty Eva told me he got his head stuck between the railing
Had a fish hook caught on his head
Drew a pic of himself for a Halloween contest & won
Loved singing karaoke & loved the oldies but goodies music and listening to Christian music.
He was into hot rods & even owned a 1937 Chevy coupe he named “Raunchy”. He was even in a hot rod club.
I will never forget Glenn & his hot rod friends driving us through Waikiki, taking all lanes on Kalakaua driving like 5-10 miles per hour. Like they owned it. When I glanced behind there were choke cars waiting for us to hele-on down the road. My favorite car was my brothers friend Cleveland Mederios who owned a T- bucket. Those were awesome times!
He loved racing in his silver corvette too. Talk about speeding. He would gas ‘um. So good fun and exciting the adrenaline.
As a teenager he enjoyed surfing and shooting pool. His hobbies was fishing, playing golf, playing tennis and he even took up ballroom dancing lessons for a short while
When he became a born again Christian he told me proudly that he read the New Testament over & over again while incarcerated. He was a peer counselor at Waiawa, which made me so proud of him for changing his ways & helping others. He was even a caregiver to his late wife Laverne.
When he was at Queen’s hospital after his traumatic brain injury from falling backwards he surprised me when he started singing Christmas songs & Que Sera Sera. And even shouting out loud that Jesus is my personal Savior …. forgive me of my sins. That really touched me and I know that brother Glenn is with Him.
IN LOVING MEMORY & FOREVER IN MY HEART
I LOVE YOU, GLENN
& MISS YOU DEARLY.
