Gwyneth Yuk Lin Yim Ching's Obituary
Dr. Gwyneth Yuk Lin Yim Ching, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dentist, passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family.
Born on June 24, 1944, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Gwyneth's life was a testament to excellence, sacrifice, & compassion.
After graduating as the senior high school class president at Sacred Hearts Academy, she graduated from Marquette University & became a distinguished professional in dentistry.
Although she had one of the highest scores on the dental board exams, she chose to sacrifice pursuing a career as a dentist to be a supportive partner to her husband Walter, in their dental practice and a devoted mother to their four children.
Gwyneth's passion for health and wellness was evident in her compassion to help those in need.
Her love for music, especially playing the piano and her enthusiasm for golf brought joy to her life.
She cherished every moment spent sharing laughter and creating memories with her family and friends.
Her brilliance, enthusiasm for life, and humility were admired by all who knew her. Gwyneth will be deeply missed and fond memories of her will continue to inspire and uplift those who were touched by her life.
Gwyneth's legacy lives on through her four children: Brad Ching (wife Colette, children Austin & Jake), Kwan Lynne Mooney (husband Todd, children Parker, Elle, & Brandt), Brent Ching (wife Susie, child Liam), and Cherene Ching. She is also survived by her siblings: Ernie Yim, Janis Chun, Paul Yim, and Merle Sen
Celebration of Life services will be held on
Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Mary, Star of the Sea church in Kahala/ Ainakoa, 4470 Aliikoa St. Honolulu, HI 96821.
Visitation from 9:30 am to 10:30 am
Eulogy 10:45 am, Mass at 11:00 am
Burial to follow at Diamond Head Memorial Park, 529 18th Ave. Honolulu, HI 96816 at 1:30 pm.
