Harriet Yoshiko Welch's Obituary
Harriet Yoshiko Welch, 98, passed peacefully on Jan 14, 2023, at Kuakini Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born on Jan 28, 1924, in Maui to Hiyosuke Yoshioka and Umeyo Takamori. She was the eldest sister of 6 siblings. She lived in Smyrna Beach, Florida, before moving back to Honolulu in the late 1970s. She is survived by her two sisters, Mildred Endo and Sally Viveiros, and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, sisters Ruth Murakami and Joyce Tam Ho, and brothers Tamotsu Nagata and Mamoru Nagata predeceased her.
The family is thankful to the many caregivers at Maluhia Nursing Home for their tireless vigilance, patience, and compassionate care of Harriet. A special thank you goes to Mia Anderson for taking care of her legal needs. A Celebration of Life and Inurnment Service will be held on Tuesday, Feb 7, 2023 at 10 AM at the Valley of the Temples, Garden of Hope.
