Hector Guzman's Obituary
Hector Guzman, age 63, of Mercedes, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 1st, 2023. Born on July 22nd, 1960, to Antonio (Tony) Guzman, Sr. and Ester V. Guzman in Mercedes, Texas, Hector had a wonderful smile that lit up a person’s life for days. His beautiful memory continues to live in us until we can meet him again.
Hector had an illustrious career in the United States Navy. Enlisting at eighteen (18) years of age, Hector traveled the world on several USS carriers. Hector honorably served his country for twenty-five (25) years as a United States Sailor, retired Chief.
A caring husband of thirty-five (35) years, Hector was a wonderful father, brother, uncle, and friend. Anyone who spoke to him knew he had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, especially spending time with his gardening class and traveling. While Hector will be greatly missed, he will never be forgotten.
Hector is survived by his loving wife, Noemi Guzman, and his sons, Austin Alexander Guzman and Brandon Michael Guzman. He will be missed by his surviving siblings Ester G. (Gilberto) Rivera, Raquel V. Davila, Eugenia G. (Ove) Rivera, Sr., Tencha Guzman, Felipe (Ninfa) Guzman, Ninfa (Juan) Garza, and Herminia G. (George) Garcia, 95 nieces, nephews, grandnephews, and grandnieces as well Aunt Lucinda Vasquez, Uncle Pablo Guzman, Aunt Tommie, and Gilberto Lopez.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. (HST) at Valley of the Temples Chapel in Kaneohe, Hawaii. For those loved ones unable to attend in person, Hector’s Celebration of Life can be streamed via the following information:
