The Priest who officiated at Jan's Funeral asked all the people who were present, "What is the first thought that comes to mind here as you think about Janice. Hold that thought and keep it with you and make it a part of your life too, in memory of Janice". Two words came to mind for me, quiet encourager. Jan gave me quiet encouragement through my own mothers illness with Alzheimer's and her subsequent death. She gave to me quiet encouragement through my first months of sobriety. Lord help me to make those two words a part of my life. Help me to quietly encourage others to become the best that You made them to be. Several things impressed me about Jan while visiting her those last three weeks of her life. Her courage, her lack of complaint and her faith in God and that He was still in control. She was ready for whatever would come and I was personally confident of where she would be when her sojourn through this place was finished. I wonder if she is now picking out the wallpaper and helping to prepare our Mansions in Heaven for the day when our sojourn through this place comes to an end. Aunty Jan, co worker, friend, confidant, quiet encourager. You are loved and you will be missed, until my sojourn through this life is done and I will see your vibrant and beautiful smile once again. Aloha, Purdy
