Our deep sympathies to Josie's family on their loss of such a beautiful person and shining light in our world. Our Family Voices of Tennessee Program has benefited enormously for Josie's advocacy, and our first Family Voice Director, Dara Howe, worked tirelessly along side Josie and the other family leader pioneers. What a formidable team of mothers who created the legacy that is now Family Voices in each state. No small task, but one for which we are thankful. Family Voices lives on, supporting children with special health care needs and their families. We feel most fortunate to have known her.

My heartfelt condolences to the Woll family and to her friends. Not only was Josie a "National Treasure" of a trailblazer for children with special needs and their families but she was the sweetest person with a great sense of humor. My daughter Rahel still remembers us visiting Josie and being treated to a great lunch in the yard and a gift of a boogie board. We were blessed to have known her and met a few members of her family.
