Kathryn Ann Heller's Obituary
Born Kathryn Ann Dew on September 5th, 1934, in Pittsburg, CA and raised in nearby Antioch, CA. While in California she worked at the Contra Costa Times and green sheet and was active in the Northern California Corvette Association and raced corvettes at events in the bay area.
In 1970 she moved to Oahu with her two young sons, George and Deno Gallepes. She became active in the visitor industry and advertising community and became publisher and managing editor of This Week Magazine, Guide to Oahu, Maui and Kauai, Going Places and Where Magazine.
She was active in sales and marketing executives, ASTA. PATA, Publishers Assn. and in 1977 was named " Advertising Woman of the Year" by the Honolulu Advertising Federation.
She was a founding volunteer for the Duke Ocean Fest and served for 20 years.
She is predeceased by her husband of 25 years, Steve Topley and her son, George Gellepes. She is survived by her son, Deno Gellepes, grandchildren, Zachary Gellepes and Stasha Longer of Texas and stepchildren, Paula Chance, Audrey Topley Harvey and David Topley of California.
