Margaret Ann Freitas' Obituary
Margaret Freitas, 80, died at her home in Honolulu on October 5, 2024. Margaret, known as "Peg" or "Peggy" to friends and family, was born in Honolulu on November 27, 1943 to parents James Atherton and Clarysse Kurth. Margaret was married to Thomas Freitas for 61 years and was a loving mother to children Kevin James (Maureen) and Jennifer Ann, and grandmother to Tea and Tevai.
After graduating from Punahou, she attended Loretto Heights College and Parks Business School in Denver, and the University of Hawaii. She was a parishioner of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Margaret worked at First Hawaiian Bank, Crown and Mariner's Escrow, Waimea Falls Park, Mariner's Realty where she was a realtor, and the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel where she made life-long friends.
Margaret's activities at home and about included surfing, swimming, hiking, working out at health clubs, gardening, cooking, hosting family dinners, following politics, doing investment club analyses, caring for aged parents, enjoying friends and relatives, and loving her dogs. Margaret traveled to France, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Japan, New Zealand (including hiking the Milford Track) as well as outer island and mainland trips to various locations. Private services are planned.
