Mark K. Hironaka's Obituary
Mark Ken Hironaka, 71, of Honolulu passed away on May 12, 2024. He was born in Honolulu on August 24, 1952. He graduated from Saint Louis School in 1970 and from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 1978 with a BA in Political Science. He then worked as a machinist at Pearl Harbor for 42 years and eventually retired as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Supervisor in 2016. After retirement, he dedicated his time to many home improvement projects, voraciously reading all the fictional thriller Hot Picks that rotated on the Kaimukī Public Library shelves, and spending time with family.
Mark was preceded in death by parents Albert and Roberta Hironaka and is survived by his wife Raquel; children Trisha Inoue (Marc) and Daniel (Megan); siblings Derek (Marlene), Brad, and Robyn (Dr. Michael) Kurosawa; and two grand-children (Cody and Mia).
Celebration of life services for Mark will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Diamond Head Mortuary; visitation to begin at 9 a.m., service at 10 a.m., with inurnment to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Diamond Head Memorial Park.
