Michael John Yim's Obituary
Born November 24, 1949, the second child and first son of Bruno and Misao Yim. He grew up in Kalihi where he enjoyed boxing, fishing and surfing. He graduated from Farrington High School in 1967 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the US Air Force where he would spend two years in Vietnam. On his return Mike raced cars and became an expert in Okinawan Karate. He met and married the love of his life, Sandi and became a physician, specializing in Internal Medicine at Kaiser Moanalua. He was an expert fishing rod builder, a competition winning archer and a renowned machinist. But of all things, husband and father were what he was most proud of. Mike passed away on November 3rd after a two year battle with
cancer. He was predeceased by wife Sandi and is survived by sisters Lanette (Van Camp) and Diane (Markle), brother Curtis and son Scott (Difei Jiang). Visitation at Diamond Head, Saturday, December 9th at 10:00am with service to follow. Casual attire, no flowers please.
