MOLLEEN MOANIKEALA KEALOHA
Molleen Moanikeala Kealoha, age 83, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. Molleen was born on December 5,1942 to Leonard Michael
Espinda and Jeanette Moanikeala Espinda. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Douglas Kealoha, and is survived by her children Scarlett Mcmasters, Sue Anne Bersola (Danny), Molly Alana (Allen), Lisa Kealoha Tupou (Sione), Ernest Kala Kealoha (Darlene) and Kale Kealoha (Ashley Iaea). Grandchildren Bryson Hodgins, Derek Alana, Kainoa Bersola, Michael Alana, Vikatolia Kauwenaole (John Gabriel), Keola Bersola, Kayla Kealoha, Dallas Tupou, Kainalu Kealoha, Kamaha’o Kealoha, Kupa’a Kealoha, and Kapalai Kealoha. Great grandchildren Gabriel Eukaliti Kauwenaole, Kaipo Jacobs.

Molleen attended Roosevelt High School graduating in 1960. She began her career at Beneficial Finance, where she worked for 5 years. She later worked at Pan American World Airways for another 5 years, a job she often said was her favorite. In 1973, she fulfilled her entrepreneurial dream by opening Waialae Realtors, a successful real estate company.
Molleen and Ernest raised six children and placed a strong emphasis on education. All of their children attended private schools, five earned college degrees, and three went on to receive master’s degrees.
A devoted woman of faith, Molleen was a longtime member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Kahala and a proud member of Na Wahine o Kamehameha.
Molleen enjoyed reading and especially loved the works of Jane Austen and Kevin Kwan. She was talented in the art of Hawaiian fatherwork and created many beautiful lei hulu. She also enjoyed making haku leis and enjoyed volunteering at the Punahou carnival and treasured spending time with her mo’opuna. She had a special bond with each of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters Leo and Sharlene. They enjoyed going out to eat and going to the movies. As they aged they really enjoyed celebrating birthdays with each other.

Known for her warm hospitality and generous spirit, Molleen was an exceptional baker whose homemade prune cake and a coconut cake became family favorites and were loved by all who knew her.
Molleen’s legacy of faith, love, family and aloha will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of Molleen’s life will be held on July 17, 2026 at Diamond Head Mortuary, 535 18th Avenue Honolulu, HI 96821. The Royal Order of Kamehameha Ekahi Na Wahine O Kamehameha at 9:30am. Visitation will be at 10:00am, Service at 11:00am. Burial to follow at 1:30 pm.
