Peter C.F. Lui's Obituary
Our beloved patriarch, Peter Ching Fai Lui, 94, passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, 2023, in Honolulu with his family by his side. A graduate of St. Louis High School, Peter earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Dayton. After college Peter joined the Air Force where he was stationed at Niagra Falls AFB and Kimpo, Korea. In 1956, he met the love of his life, Mildred Wang. They married in 1959 and for the next 64 years were inseparable. In 1958 Peter opened his own business, State Drapery. He was a natural salesperson and over the next five decades his genuineness and kindness gained him not only countless customers but lasting friendships. Peter continued to work into his 80s. When he wasn't working hard, he was playing hard. He enjoyed traveling extensively, taking many trips and cruises all over the world. Of all the destinations, Las Vegas was definitely his favorite. An incredibly loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Peter will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Wang Lui; 3 children, Lawrence Lui (Myrna), Laurie Broderick (Tom), Lisa Osurman (Jerome); 3 sisters, Lily Yue, Helen Lau, Eloise lee (Allan); 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 10 at diamond Head Mortuary. Visitation 9:30am; Services 10:30am. Private burial to be held at National Cemetery of the Pacific-Punchbowl.
