Robert Chew Yen Lum's Obituary
Robert Chew Yen "Bob" Lum, 76, of Honolulu, a retired city Land Acquisition Department supervisor, Honolulu Star Bulletin dispatcher and an Army veteran. He was volunteer with Catholic Charities, AARP tax preparation, taught citizenship class, boy scout den leader at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church, outstanding volunteer Helping Hands Hawaii, volunteer at Blessed Sacrament Church and coached Manoa Girls Athletic Club and AYSO, died in Queen's Medical Center. He was awarded the Governor's Kilohana Award, Golden Rule Award by President Clinton, Outstanding Chaminade Alumni Award, employee of the year for the C & C Department of Housing and Development and recognized for his assistance in the Chinatown Revitalization Project. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Elizabeth "Liz"; sons Robert "Rob" (Debbie Fujimoto) and Eric (Kelly); daughters Stephanie (Ryan) Lum-Itoman and Monica Lum; sisters Margaret Wong and Patricia Goo; grandchildren Alexa and Arielle Lum and Dylan Robert Itoman. Visitation 8:30 a.m. Thursday (01/09) Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; rosary 10:00 a.m.; mass 11:00 a.m. Graveside service 12:45 p.m. Diamond Head Memorial Park. Aloha attire. No flowers.
