Mr. PAIVA had such a strong influence on me as a child, and as an adult I continued to respect him as someone who helped to shape me and pave my path in life. I have so many fond memories of Mr. PAIVA, from the white Falcon pick-up truck, to the Ke'alii days and the unmatched "shakka" steal signal, to blaisdell park practices, to Mokuleia-where we camped, layed net and relaxed, man those were some precious times. Mr PAIVA was fun-loving and easy-going and the thing I will remember most about him is the way he made me feel. Everytime I saw him he had a smile on his face, that smile as he listened to me talk was piercing, he always looked so interested in what I had to say, it bought upon a sense of comfort, a sense of acceptance, as if I saw this man everyday of my life, when in reality I hardly saw him at all. I knew 40 years ago, that this was a special-kind-of-man, and in the way I feel in his passing I know I was right. To Mrs. PAIVA, Bobby, Scot and Yvette in time you will meet again! God Bless All of You and Our Prayers are with you all.##imported-begin##Kimo DU PONT##imported-end##
