Sabina Milan's Obituary
Sabina Milan, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at the age of 83 on September 20, 2024, at her home in Kapahulu, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Berlin, Germany, Sabina was one of four siblings. She embarked on her journey to Hawaii at the young age of 19, where she pursued her passion for psychology, ultimately earning a Master's degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Yet, it was the world of beauty that truly captivated her spirit. In her younger years, she was celebrated as a glamorous fashionista. While managing the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beauty Salon, she realized her dream by opening her own beauty salon in Waikiki. Beyond her professional pursuits, she found delight on the tennis courts and cherished socializing with her many friends. She embodied both elegance and vitality, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. In her later years, she became a proud member of the Elks Club, where she spent many of her Sundays.
As a loving mother and grandmother, Sabina found great joy in being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Oma". She cherished the holiday traditions of preparing exquisite German dishes such as Rouladen, Gurkensalat, and Konigsberger Klopse, filling her home with love and laughter.
Sabina's charismatic, friendly, and humorous personality captured the attention of anyone near her. A true social butterfly, she had a magnetic presence that could charm a crowd. As the proud Queen of her Red Hat Ladies club, she took immense joy in fostering connections and friendships, creating a vibrant community around her. Her spirited approach to life and her unwavering enthusiasm for gathering with friends resulted in cherished memories that will forever reside in the hearts of her loved ones.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and joy, survived by her son Julio Milan III, daughter Jessika Milan, granddaughter Natasha Leslie, grandsons Scout Benson and Hunter Benson, great-grandsons Dayton Kaniho, Kekoa Benson, and Aukai Benson, as well as granddaughters-in-law Jessica Benson and Kiana Benson.
