Salvatore Theodore Milazzo's Obituary
Salvatore Theodore Milazzo, 93, of Manoa, HI, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Salvatore was born on June 21, 1927, to Concetta (Connie) and Gaetano (Tom) Milazzo in New York, NY. After graduating from Bushwick High School in 1945, he went on to study Accounting at CCNY, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1949.
He landed his first job in accounting as an auditor for Scovell, Wellington & Company, a large CPA firm in New York, kicking off a long career in accounting. In 1960, Salvatore moved to California and worked for the government as an Auditor for five years, and later joined a CPA firm in Century City where he prepared tax returns for several celebrity clients. He ultimately started his own successful CPA practice in Burbank, CA where he worked for the next 20 years.
In 1952, he met Madeleine Guarascio at the wedding of his best friend, where he was the best man and she was the maid of honor. They enjoyed the theatre and saw several Broadway Plays during their time in New York. They wed in 1954, and went on to have two sons, Wayne and Gary.
Salvatore retired to Hawaii in 1985 with his wife Madeleine but returned to California a couple of years later. While back in California, he purchased a 1930 Ford Model A and joined the Model A Club. He and Madeleine enjoyed traveling, going on trips to New York and Italy. He ultimately retired back to Hawaii in 2005, where they settled in Manoa.
Salvatore was predeceased by his parents Concetta and Gaetano, and by his brother Paul. He is survived by his wife Madeleine, sons Wayne and Gary, daughters-in-laws Vicki and Lucy, grandchildren Amy, Courtney and Brandon, grandson-in-law Gabriel, and great-grandson Daniel.
