Shawn Alex Richter's Obituary
Enduring Peace
Those we love don’t go away;
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, Unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, And very dear.
Shawn Alex Richter of Ewa Beach passed away on May 14, 2026, while working at Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali‘i. He was 30 years old. A dedicated employee, Shawn was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Shawn was born at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children and graduated from James Campbell High School in 2013. Shawn was the second sibling of three children born to Craig & Terry Ann Richter.
Shawn was an avid sports fan and a devoted WWE enthusiast. One of his favorite memories was a trip to Florida, where he visited the Hogan Beach Shop, stepped into the ring, and proudly paraded a WWE championship belt as if he had just won the title. He knew every wrestler and followed events throughout the year. A highlight for him was attending a WWE event at the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in 2019. Shawn also passionately supported the Detroit Lions, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, the Vegas Golden Knights, and University of Hawai‘i sports, especially football. One of his favorite University of Hawai‘i football memories was traveling to Las Vegas for the UH vs. UNLV game at Allegiant Stadium. He enjoyed the tailgate parties hosted by the California Hotel and meeting some of his favorite former players. Over the years, Shawn also attended home games for the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Lions, and Detroit Tigers in Detroit, Michigan, as well as the South Point 400 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Shawn also loved to travel, especially to visit his brothers, Steven and Todd, in Beaverton, Oregon. He often traveled to Michigan and Indiana to spend time with his grandmother, uncles, aunties, and cousins. He also enjoyed trips to Disney World, Disneyland, Universal Orlando, Universal Studios Hollywood, and the Kennedy Space Center. Along the way, Shawn visited many states, including Michigan, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Oregon, California, Arizona, and Nevada.
Shawn liked going to the movie theater on his days off work and enjoyed posting his movie day on Facebook.
Shawn was a lovable, happy, and kind soul who touched many lives and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his father, Craig William Richter; his mother, Terry Ann Richter; his brothers, Steven Craig Richter (oldest) and Todd William Richter (youngest); his grandmothers, Patricia Jane Richter and Irene Cadovona Ordonez; and many uncles, aunties, and cousins.
