Stanley Hideo Uyehara's Obituary
Stanley Hideo Uyehara, was born Sept. 15, 1940 in Honolulu. He was the youngest child of parents Shigeru and Anna Uyehara. His siblings were Robert, Thomas, and Ruby Uyehara. Stanley passed away on July 3, 2024, at 15 Craigside Place, a senior living complex, where he resided for over 2 years. He had accidentally taken a serious fall in his apartment unit and unfortunately never recovered. Stanley attended Hawaiian Mission Academy, Iolani School, the University of Hawaii, receiving a BBA, and UCLA where he received his MBA. Stanley was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserve on June 17, 1962. Most of his duty was in S. Korea, where he commanded a squadron of four tanks in the 1st Calvary near the DMZ. He was honorably discharged as a Captain on March 28, 1969. Stanley’s work career included being an investment advisor at large stock brokerage firms, including Walston & Co. and Dean Witter Reynolds. He then worked as the assistant manager of the Ala Moana Shopping Center. He later
decided to leave the shopping center to become the CEO of a large roofing company. During his retirement years, he managed his family’s pikake farm business and served as the property manager of their rental units, located at Puu Panini and 22nd Avenues in Waialae Kahala.
