Terence Leroy Texeira's Obituary
Terence Leroy Texeira was born in Puna, Hawaii on February 1, 1960 to Henry and Kapua Texeira. Terence grew up as his parent’s youngest child with his big brother Kevin and big sister Charlene. As a child, he spent most of his time fishing with his Papa Texeira and cousins. His papa taught him everything he needed to know about fishing. After graduating from Hilo High School, Terence joined the Army then returned to Hawaii where he became an aku boat fisherman for 15 years. Later, he worked for the City and County of Honolulu as a groundskeeper and worked his way to become a power mower operator. Throughout his life he remained an avid fisherman and was part of the winning crew of the 2008 Ahi Fever. He married the love of his life, Jill Texeira, on March 3, 2018. Together they enjoyed frequent trips to the Big Island, California and Las Vegas. He spent a lot of time with his fishing crew and sharing their catch of the day with everyone he knew. Terence’s life was made up of family, fishing and food.
Terence is survived by his wife Jill Texeira, daughter Casey Imai, stepchildren Chantelle and Warren Puletasi, brother and sister Kevin Mokuahi (Mona) and Charlene Soares, and half-sister Brenda Ioane. He is also survived by many aunties, uncles, , nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private celebration of life will be held.
