Theodore Wah Jun Wong's Obituary
Theodore Wah Jun Wong, age 90 of Honolulu, passed away on January 14, 2020 at 15 Craigside. He was born in Honolulu on December 19, 1929 to Chew and Ruth Wong. Ted graduated from Iolani School in 1947 and Cornell University in 1953 and was a member of Triangle Fraternity. After graduation, he married Betty Chun and moved to California to work for Hughes Aircraft Co. for 39 years He retired in 1992 as Sr. Vice-President and Group President of Missile Systems Group. Throughout his life Ted loved to fish for salmon in Canada and fly fish in Idaho. He was known for his “Cooking the Wong Way” many cuisines for small gatherings and large parties. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with family and friends as well as golfing. Upon Ted’s return to Honolulu in 2002, he served on the Scientific Advisory Board, Armed Services YMCA Board, and SCORE.
He is survived by children, Tracy Zen (Dr. Mark), Dr. Russell (Lisa), and Bradley (Peggy), 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, and brothers, Raymond (Carol) and Wilfred.
He is predeceased by wife, Betty, sister, Juanita Leong and brother, Lester.
