Veronica Lee Kahiwalani Punzal's Obituary
Veronica Lee Kahiwalani “Kahiwa” Punzal was 51 years old when she returned to her heavenly home on Monday, March 25th.
Kahiwa was born and raised in Kaimuki, Hawaii. She attended Kaimuki High school, graduated in 1985 and later studied at Kapiolani Community College. She worked at the Makiki Post Office and several different locations as a mail clerk and everyone loved when she came to work at their location.
Kahiwa was a fighter first and foremost and a cancer survivor. She had a vivacious personality and always made everyone laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and made the most of the short time that she was given. She was treasured by her son and many nieces and nephews who considered her their second mother. She had many nicknames including Aunty Mommy, Momi, Grandma and so many more.
Kahiwa is survived by her loving parents Manuel (Manny) and Mabel; brothers Patrick and Charles (Kimo). Also survived by her partner of 19 years Greg Wolny, her son Jason Wolny and her grandson Kuhao (Kubear), cousins and many nieces and nephews: Kayla, Carrie, Devon, Kristine (Kanoe), Patrick (Alakai), Lauren and Zachary.
She will be dearly missed by her loved ones who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with the Lord. She is remembered by her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God. Please honor her by wearing Aloha Attire and bright colors. She was a person filled with so much energy and color and would have loved to be celebrated in such a way.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on May 18th from 9 am to 12 pm at the Diamond Head Mortuary and Williams Funeral Services, 96816 — 535 18th Ave, Honolulu.
