Victoria "Vicky" Ostrom Rego's Obituary
Age 98, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2019 at the Arcadia Residence in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu on March 25, 1920, Vicky and her late husband Anson Manual Rego ran successful bar/restaurant businesses in Kaimuki and Waianae. She was a licensed real estate broker (Anson O. Rego Realty) and an active member of the Kaimuki and Waianae Business Association. Vicky was also a committed member of Sacred Heart Church in Waianae and Sacred Heart Church in Honolulu where she taught Sunday school and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Vicky was involved in many church activities completing several religious pilgrimages to France, Portugal, Mexico, and the Holy Land.
Preceded in death by her husband Anson Manual Rego (1988), brothers Benjamin Kaai, Avard Ostrom, John Ostrom (step-brother), Douglas Bright, Robert Bright, Willie Bright, Jr., Roger Bright, and sisters Lillian Ostrom Eitel, Alice Kaapa Pereira, Florence (Momi) Bright Meshke, Mary (Kay) Ostrom Penaroza, and Helen Bright Furtado.
Victoria is survived by son Anson O. Rego (Meymo L. Rego), daughter Donna R. Ede (Roger C. Ede), grandchildren: Leilani Rego Scribner, Anson O. Rego, Jr., Malia-Victoria Rego Valdez, Lindsey K. Rego, Kekoa C. Ede, Kaleo C. Ede, Keala C. Ede and great-grandchildren: Wentworth Scribner, Elisabella Scribner, Evangelene Scribner, William Valdez, Maya-Victoria Valdez, Caytre Ede, Kiennan Ede, Noa Ede, Simmona Ede, Kawai Ede, Keone Ede, Kaikane Bly Ede, Petra Bly Ede, and Lanny Ostrom, step-brother.
Services: Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Diamond Head Memorial Park. Visitation: 10:30 am, Service: 11:30: Burial at 2:00 pm. Loose flowers or lei from your garden welcome. In lieu of flower arrangements, a memorial donation may be made in Vicky's name to: Sacred Heart Church – Honolulu, Door Restoration Fund.
