Wallene was such a special, caring person. She cherished her family and friends. Wallene diligently kept our Star of the Sea (SOS) friends a cohesive group! According to SOS officials, our class of ‘67 is the only class that has stayed connected thanks to Wallene (& St. Louis’ Steven Wong). One of my fondest memories of Wallene is the weekend she spent with Jim & me in Sunset Beach, CA. She would say, in reference to my Chihuahua, Bambi, who had slipped away to join Wallene at bedtime, “HE allowed ME to sleep with him!” I often think of the time we spent in Las Vegas. Wallene loved learning how to play Texas Hold-em, seeing Barry Manilow in concert, and visiting Red Rock with Patty Frates Paganucci! Also, whenever I would return home, Wallene would always get our SOS & St. Louis classmates together. She would always pick Jim & me up at the cruise port and make sure we visited Lauri Gerboc! (Wallene loved Trader Joe’s Coconut Strips!) What a memory Wallene had - she would always update me on our fellow classmates & her family, including the antics of her grandson Aidan!
Wallene, I will miss you dearly. Although I prayed for you every night, the good Lord had bigger plans for you. With love and aloha, Maylani
