Wilma Naomi Makilan's Obituary
Wilma Naomi (Tanaka) Makilan, 86 years of age, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, peacefully at home, Pearl City, HI. She is the widow of the late John C. Makilan. Wilma was born September 05, 1935, in Honolulu, HI to the late Robert Tadao Tanaka and Annie Tanaka. Wilma was number six of ten children (five preceded in death).
Wilma was a graduate of McKinley High School, class of 1953. Wilma professed her life to Christ at an early age. She loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord serving in various areas of the church, always helping others and laughing in the kitchen with her sisters.
Wilma loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family and friends, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face.
Wilma was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was always thinking of others first. "To know her is to love her".
Wilma leaves her cherished memories to her children; Naomi Makilan, Luana (Doi) Makilan (Husband Elden), John Makilan (Wife Latana) and Karen (Alarcon Makilan (husband Cecil), preceded her in death Laurie Ann (Newberry) Makilan, (3) grandchildren; David Makilan, Micah Doi (wife Wendi) and Lisa Makilan, (3) great-grandchildren; Keathan, Caleb and Mikayla Makilan.
