Yuen Ling Haydee Chu Law's Obituary
Today, we gather here to celebrate the remarkable life of Haydee Yuen Ling Chu Law. It is with heavy hearts that we bid her farewell, but we are here to remember her with love, admiration, and gratitude for the impact she had on our lives.
Haydee was born on December 26, 1957, in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. From a young age, she displayed a deep passion for fashion. With determination and entrepreneurial spirit, she opened her first boutique stores in her late twenties, paving the way for a successful venture into the European Fashion wholesale business. Haydee's creativity and business acumen were evident as her empire flourished.
However, life took a beautiful turn when Haydee met the love of her life, Paul Chu. They embarked on a journey together, and Haydee chose to close her business to focus on building a loving home and raising their children, Michele and Ryan Chu. She embraced her role as a homemaker, pouring her heart and soul into nurturing her family and creating a warm, loving environment.
Beyond her dedication to her family, Haydee had a zest for life that shone brightly. She found solace and strength through her passion for yoga, which kept her fit and balanced. But it was on the dance floor where she truly came alive. Ballroom dancing became her escape, her joy, and her form of self-expression. Haydee's dedication and talent propelled her to compete regularly, even gracing the prestigious stage of Blackpool. Her skills were admired worldwide, and she achieved the remarkable feat of being ranked #23 globally.
Music, too, held a special place in Haydee's heart. Her captivating voice mesmerized those around her, especially during her beloved karaoke sessions. She shared her love for singing, creating cherished memories through the power of music.
Above all, Haydee was a devoted wife and mother. She poured her love into every aspect of her family's lives, ensuring that her children excelled not only academically but also in their various extracurricular pursuits. Whether it was piano, speech and drama, or volleyball, Haydee tirelessly supported her children, instilling in them a sense of determination and perseverance.
Haydee's strength and resilience were tested in 2004 when she faced her first battle with ovarian cancer. She underwent surgery, and in God's grace, enjoyed another fifteen years of good health. However, life had other plans, and she faced subsequent relapses in 2019 and 2021. Undeterred, Haydee approached her treatments with courage and a fighting spirit, enduring chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy. Yet, in January 2023, the tide turned, and the cancer gained the upper hand. The last six months were marked by immense pain, despite the relentless efforts of medical intervention.
Today, as we say goodbye to our beloved Haydee, let us remember her for the love she showered upon us, the strength she embodied, and the memories she created. Let us cherish the laughter she shared, the wisdom she imparted, and the indomitable spirit that defined her.
Though our hearts ache with grief, we find solace in knowing that Haydee is finally at peace. May she find rest in a better place, free from pain and suffering. As we bid our final farewell, let us carry the light of her love in our hearts, forever grateful for the privilege of having known Haydee Yuen Ling Chu Law.
Rest in eternal peace, dear Haydee. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
