Alison Yukie Miyasaki's Obituary
Alison Yukie Miyasaki, 69, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away peacefully at home on January 10, 2025, surrounded by loving family. Alison was born on January 5, 1956 in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Kenzo and Florence Miyasaki.
A 1974 graduate of St. Andrews Priory, Alison earned a baccalaureate degree in nursing from UH Manoa and a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco. She began her career as a bedside nurse and spent decades as a critical care nurse in the ICU and cardiac surgery at Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center. She further used her experience to teach as a critical care educator, and then shifted to patient safety and quality. She managed the Queen’s Clinically Integrated Physician Network Information Systems and finally retired in 2021 as an instructor from the University of Hawaii School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene.
She will be remembered for her generous, compassionate and energetic spirit and her unconditional love and commitment to family. Alison was predeceased in death by her father, Kenzo Miyasaki, and is survived by her mother Florence, daughter, Megan Henry (Jack), and brother, Bryce Miyasaki (Joyce). Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Diamond Head Mortuary. Service to begin at 5:00 PM.
