Ginger Hart's Obituary
Ginger Hart, 80, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on June 2, 2019 at The
Queen’s Medical Center surrounded by her close family and friends. Born July 13, 1938 in Wahiawa, Hawaii, she is predeceased by her parents, Takeo Abo and Thelma ‘Miki’ Steichen of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Ginger was a retired nurse manager from The Queen’s Medical Center. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and loved by those whose lives she touched. She was generous with her love and her time. She was a loyal friend, a supportive boss, and a valued and respected colleague. Above all of this, Ginger was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveled several times during the year to be able to see her daughters and their families who lived away.
Ginger is survived by her 5 daughters and their spouses, Michele Hart, Elena Woo and Vernon Woo, Danielle Hart and Cora Woodward, Erin Block and Brandon Block, and Kimberly Hart; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Bradford Long and Lauren Long, Alesi Woodward-Hart, Tinoa Woodward Hart, Joshua Wise and Jaymie Wise, Isaiah Wise, Kellen Keliinui, Makana Block, Kaleialoha Block, Roman Nicolai, Tehani Hart, and Melia Nicolai; 2 great-grandchildren, Jordyn Wise and Jemma Wise; 4 siblings and their spouses, Grant ‘Tomo’ Abo, Kathleen Kumia and William Kumia, Ray Abo and Joelle Abo, Bebe Schmidt and Michael Schmidt; 9 nieces and nephews and their spouses.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2020 at Queen Surf Beach in Waikiki. It is a place that holds special memories for Ginger and her close and extended family. The family asks that no memorial donations be brought on this day. Please wear something purple in honor of Ginger, all who knew her knew it was her favorite color.
