Julia Kealoha Kalama-Cabral's Obituary
Julia Kealoha Kalama-Cabral, 93, of Honolulu, passed away in Honolulu on Sunday, June 22,2025. She was born in Honolulu, a renown hula dancer, kumu hula, entertainer, producer, and recording artist.
Kealoha received numerous awards. In 2005, the Lifetime Achievement Award from Hawai'i Academy of Recording Artists; in 2023 Inductee into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame.
She was involved in several organizations, The Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu,
Kalihi-Palama Hawaiian Civic Club, Hale O Na Ali'i and a lifetime member of the Honolulu Elks Lodge 616.
She is survived by her daughter Jewel K. Scoggins, 2 sons Sidney Kaho'onei and Raymond Kaho'onei, Jr., three sisters Pearl M. Kaeo, Rosell P. Kalama-Akiona and Jacqueline K. Maynard, 4 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
Visitation starts at 9am, Services at 10am on Thursday, July 31 at Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel, followed by interment at 1pm,at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
