Barone, Lawrence's Obituary
Lawrence Barone, of Honolulu, passed away September 22, 2024, at the age of 97.
Private Military Honors will take place in November at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl), in Honolulu.
Mr. Barone was a Kaimuki resident of Honolulu, moving here when he was about 3 years old. Mr. Barone graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945. He married Vernia Ellen Walters and they shared 58 years together until her death in 2008. He will be interred with his wife and their son, Rodney Barone who passed away in 1956.
Mr. Barone served the U.S. Government for over 50 years, three years with the U.S. Air Force in the later part of World War II. He later served 50 years retiring as the Chief Inspector with the U.S. Customs Bureau, Department of the Treasury, at the Honolulu International Airport.
Survivors include his son, Lyle Barone, Major U.S. Army (Retired) and his wife, Wilma; grandson, Christopher, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a granddaughter, Vanessa; and great-grandchildren, Vaughn & Varick.
